Jane Kell is a British painter currently based in London. She is primarily an abstract painter and colorist who paints directly on to the canvas with no preliminary drawing. Her works of vibrant colors and organic shapes portray a powerful emotion that the land gifts to us . She works initially with thinned down paint to map out the space and then applies thicker impasto layers to build up the picture. A painting might be finished in one session, other times it might go through many stages and rethinks over many weeks. Her decisions are instinctive and spontaneous and can result in paintings changing dramatically during the process.
